In today's post, we're highlighting one of our preferred vendors: Miss Frances Dances. We're right in the middle of high wedding season in the Bay Area, and the last thing a lot of couples think about is the first dance. Not only are the MFD instructors excellent teachers for all levels, they also provide an amazing single workshop option for those that just don't have the time or resources to take extensive private lessons!
MSH Events understands that not every couple is as excited about dancing as we are! More and more, we are seeing people asking for minimal first dances or forgoing it altogether and going with a wedding party dance instead. Which is a bit of a shame, because there's something really special about partner dancing, the give-and-take and communication between two people that is just for them. And you don't need fancy footwork to get that feeling!
That's where Miss Frances Dances comes in. Based in San Francisco, their mission statement, "Fun & Effortless, Crafted with Love" says it all. Their goal is to craft a first dance experience that is true to you as a couple while making the process fun. For those who are more advanced dancers, they can teach serious ballroom technique as well. They're the whole package. Many people don't realize that the dance steps are just one part of the whole process. MFD lessons include:
- Exclusive use of the dance studio
- Song editing
- Video recordings of your lessons for practice
- Professional performance tips (recovering after mistakes, posing for your photographer, making the most out of your dance floor, and how to best perform in your wedding dress and shoes)
But what if you don't want something that formal or don't have it in your budget or it's only one week until the big day?! MFD has something for that! Wedding Workshops are monthly 1 and 1/2 hour lessons in a small-group setting, where you'll learn the minimum you need for a smooth first dance. And you're in luck, the next two workshops are September 27 and October 4. Make sure to reserve your spot soon, because you know they'll fill up fast!
